Cherry Vanity
This vanity is 30" tall, 24" wide, and 18" deep. The drawers are maple with half-blind dovetails and cherry faces. The vanity top is white quartz composite, and this piece can be customized and ordered in any size. In order to accommodate a sink and its plumbing I built this piece with two fake drawer fronts and two shorter drawers at the top of the cabinet. The cut-out in the second drawer from the bottom is also to account for the plumbing. The drawer pulls are nickel.

Red Acorn Woodworking
After one year of building and apprenticing under the cabinetmaker John Landis, and three years of High School woodworking under Carter Sio, I have started designing and building my own custom furniture.
In my furniture, I strive to find a balance between functionality and artistic expression. My first priority is always building a well-constructed piece that will stand the test of time.
I prefer to let the wood itself be the focal point in my furniture. My designs are unique but not overly busy, and they are meant to bring out the natural beauty of the woods I have used. I enjoy using inlays, asymmetrical designs, contrasting colors, visible joinery, and various other techniques to make my pieces unique. I also endeavor to use reclaimed materials in my work, whether in the form of old wine barrels, salvaged lumber, or items picked up at a flea market. This sustainable practice both adds to the individuality of my furniture and reduces my impact on the natural world.

Oct 18, 2015Nice experience for my first purchase on Custom Made. I had been searching for a bookshelf with a little more depth to the shelves than what I was finding in home furnishing sites. I also wanted the majority of the bookcase to be made of solid wood. Walter was helpful with suggestions regarding the best materials and design for my needs and budget. He addressed any concerns I had in a timely manner. He was also very pleasant in person when he delivered the finished product.
