Custom Portrait Painting
I use a technique in a digital program that utilizes a stylus and tablet with custom digital brushes that transforms your photograph into an amazing painted portrait. These are not just run through a filter or an app as seen on some other offerings and sites. Utilizing traditional painting techniques (you can actually see the brush strokes as in a traditional painting) along with digital expertise, I will create an art piece that you will be proud to hang in your home. The style can be traditional to wild and anything in between. Your input is sought along the way to ensure that you receive just what you want. Presented as a high quality archival pigment ink on a choice of metallic paper or 100% cotton rag paper (similar to watercolor paper), 8x10 piece that will last generation to come. Also available on gallery wrapped canvas. Other sizes available. Pricing dependent on number of subjects, the complexity of the image, background, size and medium of final piece.

My formal training began with film in the darkroom. Now, I am working with digital imagery. I feel the same magic come alive when I open an image in Photoshop as I did working in the darkroom.
Much of my digital work is influenced by the psychedelic pop culture images of my childhood. Using richly saturated colors with an emphasis on luminosity I create a somewhat surreal image.
My photographic images begin in the RAW format. I often begin producing multiple layers with various filters and effects. I then add and subtract from the various components of the image. Some parts of the image might only have one layer, while others may have ten or more layers or effects to produce the look and feel that I wish to convey. Occasionally I find photographic image that stands alone in it’s beauty and uniqueness and I only wish to share it in it’s simplicity.
I am an current member of Professional Photographers of America as well as The Central Brevard Art Association.
I am represented by Downtown Gallery in Titusville Florida and Island Art Gallery in Merritt Island Florida. My work is regularly featured in exhibits through out Brevard County as part of The Art in Public Spaces curated by The Brevard Culture Alliance, Art in Public Places curated by The Central Brevard Art Association as well as various juried art festivals and contests in Florida.

I did have a slight hard time with communication on the Custom Made site as far as responding, I think it could be made easier to use by a long run. I kept responding but many of them towards the end were never received and Custom Made kept asking me to respond!! Somehow LK found me and we connected and I am so thrilled. I love her work and would not hesitate using her or Custom Made again which in fact I am planning on. I just hope the website is fixed as far as communication. Thank you all very much!
