It was great to work with Jim. In my opinion, he expert craftsmanship is matched by his professionalism. He was very accommodating and was attentive to every last detail and the final piece exceeded my expectations. I would recommend him to everyone and I hope to work with him again in the future.

Working with Jim was a delight. He was extremely quick to reply to my request and got a bid to me very promptly. The cutting board is just as perfect as I hoped it would be as well. I would certainly request a future job from him.

I can't say enough good things about my new hiking stick and about Jim Barbour of ShopDog Turnery. I had wanted a hiking stick made of a very uncommon wood (verawood) and I have to say that it turned out even better than I had hoped. It's a nice heavy stick, beautifully crafted and gorgeous wood. I knew I was asking a lot from Jim as verawood is extremely difficult to work with, but he did an outstanding job. Thinking about ordering another one for my brother! I know this beauty will last me a lifetime. Took it out for my first hike today and it was perfect. (By the way, for anyone thinking of getting a similar stick, only get this if you have a lot of upper body strength, as it is much heavier than a normal hiking stick. I got this because I'm tough on sticks -- my last one is beat to hell - and because I hike in some areas where I need a stick that can be used for self defense if necessary.) Any custom made wood projects I have from now on - I know where to go. Thanks again, Jim!
