These celestial earrings inspired by the brightest star in earth's night sky, Sirius. Created from sterling silver, brass and copper with sterling ear wire. Fun facts: "What the naked eye perceives as a single star is actually a binary star system, Sirius appears bright because of both its intrinsic luminosity and its proximity to Earth. At a distance of 2.6 parsecs. Sirius is located in the constellation Canis Major – also known as the Big Dog – and is therefore known as the "dog star". It is over twenty times brighter than our sun and is twice as massive. At night time, Sirius is the brightest star in the sky and its blue-white glare never failed to amaze star gazers since the dawn of time. Associating Sirius with the divine and even considering it as the home of humanity's "great teachers" is not only embedded in the mythology of a few primitive civilizations: It is a widespread belief that has survived (and even intensified) to this day. DeLisa Designs
DeLisa Designs jewelry is produced by Lisa Linbrugger in her Austin studio. Much of the inspiration for her work is gathered from observations of pattern, form and color in nature from microbiology and botany to astronomy. Influenced by abstract and sculptural design, she uses mostly sterling silver incorporating different metals and materials to create modern, wearable art.
She loved them
Working with Lisa was such an incredible experience. She took my vision and made it something so much better. She communicates very well and I can't imagine going to anyone else.
Lisa was great at making this happen! She was super helpful making this dram a reality. I was working with her from Central America with limited wifi. She made it happen very quick, was personal, professional, creative, and very timely. I would highly recommend her and custommade!
Lisa was a delight to work with: collaborative, creative and communicative. I highly recommend both her and her work.
It took me two tries to get an initial question answered, but once that was accomplished, everything went smoothly and satisfactorily. The finished earrings are unique, beautiful, and a good value. Lisa's work is therefore highly and enthusiastically recommended.
