Owned and operated solely by Ben R. Matthews, with the capable aid and assistance of his Daughter and Son, Esther and Asa, respectively, the timberframe wood shop and forge is located in rural Baltimore County, Northern Maryland.

May 30, 2013Ben was flexible enough to show us a variety of potential woods when we realized reclaimed elm would be hard to come by, different finishing techniques to give the aged look we wanted, and even different base options for our table. This made me feel like I was really part of the creation of our coffee table, and even if it doesn't look that different than something you could find in a store, I know it was made with care and love right here in the Mid-Atlantic by a local artisan.
