This is a set of six matching cabinets built on either side of a large fireplace. There are two cabinets and one corner cabinet on each side of the fireplace. The corner cabinet on the right serves as an entertainment center and allows for easy viewing of the television from any seat in the room. The cabinet "skeletons" are made of cabinet-grade plywood but the entire visible exterior is solid cherry. Each pair of doors is made of bookmatched, solid wood, one-piece panels. Even the large doors of the entertainment center feature one-piece 20" bookmatched panels! All of the frame pieces were selected for straight grain while the panels are either crotch grain or full cathedral grain. The doors are full mortise and tenon construction. The cabinet face frames are dovetailed together by hand. The cornice moulding is custom made and features six separate pieces of moulding, including a wonderful soffit design that creates a great shadow line. The air conditioning was routed to come out of the baseboard and cherry louvered vents were made to match. The leaded glass doors feature glass panels that were each hand made by a local artist, set in the doors and glazed. The use of tinted window glazing makes these doors as attractive from the inside as they are from the outside and adds a traditional touch. This is just an example of what can be done but gives an idea of my approach. It is rarely the case anymore, but I believe built-in furniture can and should be made with the same standards that are seen in custom free-standing furniture. I encourage local customers to inquire about your projects today for a free proposal and sketch!

This Maker has consistently demonstrated excellence in craftsmanship and customer service.
I specialize in reproductions and interpretations of traditional American furniture styles, including the William & Mary, Queen Anne, Chippendale and Federal furniture eras. I also have a great admiration for Art Deco furniture and have worked in more contemporary styles. I will work in any style so long as the design will not sacrifice the integrity and durability of the piece. I demand my work be of the highest quality but I still try to ensure it is very competitively priced within the market.
Each new commission begins with a discussion of wood and a selection of the finest traditionally used hardwoods chosen for their grain orientation and figure. With access to wide stock (some boards 20" and wider) I rarely need to glue up panels. This eliminates unsightly seems and allows the natural pattern of the grain to play out over the full width of a table top or the side of a chest of drawers as the case may be. My pieces will utilize traditional joinery methods from hand-cut dovetails to pinned mortise and tenon construction. All carvings are done by hand. My federal furniture designs feature the finest quality veneers, shop made bandings, and inlay for dramatic grain effects and are always used over solid hardwood substrates. I am a craftsman and a throwback to a time when furniture was built with integrity and not merely efficiency, I believe in quality and that a piece of furniture, made properly, should last several generations. I encourage you to commission your own heirloom with the beauty of an antique and the smooth function of something brand new. Finally, it is my sincerest hope that you will use and admire your piece on a daily basis and pass it down in your family for generations as many of the originals that were so well loved have been.
I will hand deliver and install pieces to customers within a days travel distance. For those customers that are further away, pieces may be blanket wrapped and crated for safe transport.
I encourage you to visit the website and welcome you to email me with any inquiries that you may have and I will make a effort to answers you as quickly as possible. Cheers.
